In the process of discovering where network issues are for customers, we take a look 1st at our servers - and if all is well, then at the customers end of the connection. Below is a speed test and a tracert test, that tests your Internet connection (speed test) and your connection from your existing location to your website server (tracert).
Starting with your computer (or the one having difficulty), we would like you to perform a few tests if you could, and send us back the results. This will give us the info we need from your own network connection.
1st - the easiest one. A speed test.
GO to this link http://www.speedtest.net/ Press GO.
After it is complete, use the Share icons and press the chain link icon to pop up the URL to copy and share with us. Paste this link back into an email to share with us.
2nd - a tracert test. This one shows us the "hops" between you and the mail server, and shows any particular hops on that route that may be causing you grief.
In a command prompt in Windows (use RUN, then type CMD) you should see a black screen with a cursor blinking
Type at the prompt: tracert yourdomain.com (obviously use your website domain instead)
Now wait and you should see lines appearing until it completes. Good, now we need to see this too.
Press Ctrl + A to select all text, and press {ENTER} to copy it to clipboard. Now you can paste this to a new txt file.
Right click on desktop, select NEW, and Text Document, and name your new file. Now open it, and paste the tracert info into it and SAVE (Ctrl + V).
Now attach the new txt file you made to an email and send it over with the Speed test link.
