As you are probably aware, Hosting Nation is in the midst of changing domain providers. We sent out several announcement emails over the summer to our domain holders. To reference that announcement look here.
We are leaving our current provider, Enom and switching to Hexonet (aka 1api.net) due to a change in their pricing model and support levels. To facilitate this, we sent all our domain holders emails with the EPP key necessary for a domain transfer and requested that those be forwarded back to us at epp@hosting-nation.com
When a domain is renewed at Hosting Nation, that renewal order is changed into a domain transfer. If we have the EPP key, the transfer can initiate and take 7 or less days to complete.
IF WE DO NOT HAVE YOUR EPP KEY AND THE DOMAIN EXPIRES YOU WILL CHARGED A $10 ADDITIONAL FEE TO COVER THE COSTS OF RENEWING THE DOMAIN AT ENOM. ONCE A DOMAIN EXPIRES IT CANNOT BE TRANSFERRED IN THE PROCESS
The process is:
1) Renewal order is paid for - We start a transfer at Hexonet.
2) If we have a correct EPP key, the transfer will start and you will get an email from Enom with:
From: <donotreply@name-services.com>
Subject: Domain Transfer Request for yourdomain.com
It will contain a link to approve or cancel the transfer. DO NOT CANCEL! If you do nothing, in 5 days the transfer will proceed.
3) Upon transfer completion you will receive an email asking to verify your contact information with:
From: Hosting Nation Data Inc <registrant-verification@ispapi.net>
Subject: The verification of your domains is required - yourdomain.com
Please click on the link in the email or the domain with be suspended in 15 days.
Note that as of step 2, the expiry date on your domain within our system will advance. It does not reflect a completed transfer.
